New Members on Total’s Executive Committee
Total’s Executive Committee, that implements the strategic trends defined by the Board of Directors, has three new members.
Three new members have joined Total’s Executive Committee (Comex) since August 1, 2019. Jean-Pierre Sbraire was appointed Chief Financial Offer for the Group on the same date, following Patrick de La Chevardière’s retirement (Cf. JDA 60).
On August 19, 2019, it was Helle Kristoffersen’s turn to join Total’s Executive Committee when she was appointed President, Strategy & Innovation. The position was previously held by Philippe Sauquet, now focusing on his responsibilities as President,
Gas Renewables & Power.
On January 1, 2020, Alexis Vovk was appointed President, Marketing & Services and member of the Executive Committee, a position previously held by Momar Nguer.
Total’s Executive Committee now consists of:

- Arnaud Breuillac, President, Exploration & Production.
- Helle Kristoffersen, President, Strategy & Innovation.
- Bernard Pinatel, President, Refining & Chemicals.
- Philippe Sauquet, President, Gas, Renewables & Power.
- Jean-Pierre Sbraire, Group Chief Financial Officer.
- Namita Shah, President, People & Social Responsibility.
- Alexis Vovk, President, Marketing & Services.
Patrick Pouyanné stated that for him, the diversity of members’ backgrounds drives innovation and progress at Total, and he was very pleased to welcome the new members to the Executive Committee.
Jean-Pierre Sbraire,
Group Chief Financial Officer
Jean-Pierre Sbraire began his career at Total in 1990 in the Trading & Shipping Division. In 1995 he joined Exploration & Production holding various positions in Paris and Nigeria in finance, economics
and business development. In 2005, he was appointed General Secretary and Finance Manager for Total in Venezuela. In 2009, he became Senior Vice President, E&P Subsidiaries Financial Operations. In 2012 Mr. Sbraire was appointed Vice President,
Equity Crude Acquisitions in Trading & Shipping. From September 2016 to September 2017, he served as Group Treasurer. He then accepted the position of Deputy Chief Financial Officer. In 2019, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Executive
Committee Member. Jean-Pierre Sbraire is a graduate of the ENSTA ParisTech engineering school and has a master’s degree from IFP School.
Helle Kristoffersen,
President Strategy & Innovation
Helle Kristoffersen began her career in 1989 at the investment bank Lazard Frères. In 1991, she moved to the transportation and logistics company, Bolloré. In 1994, she joined Alcatel where she pursued her career until 2010. She served as Alcatel’s
and then Alcatel-Lucent’s Senior Vice-President, Strategy. Helle Kristoffersen joined the Total group in January 2011 as Deputy Senior Vice President and then Senior Vice President, Strategy & Business Intelligence. On September 1, 2016, she
became Senior Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Affairs, in Gas, Renewables & Power. A dual Danish and French national, Helle Kristoffersen is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Supérieure (Ulm), and the Paris Graduate School of Economics,
Statistics and Finance (ENSAE), and holds a master’s degree in econometrics from University Paris 1. She is an alumna of the Institute for Higher National Defense Studies (IHEDN) and a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
Alexis Vovk,
President, Marketing & Services
Alexis Vovk began his career at Total in 1991 in the UK, in the division in charge of Refining & Marketing activities. Following a first position in France, he persued an international career with several technical and commercial positions in
Turkey and Tunisia. After a position in the division’s Strategy department, he was appointed Managing Director for Total in Zambia in 2007, followed by similar positions in Kenya in 2010, then in Nigeria from 2013 to 2016. In 2016, he became Senior
Vice President, France and President of Total Marketing France, in charge of operational activities in France, notably overseeing the Group’s service-station network in the country. He additionally joined the Marketing & Services Management
Committee in 2019. Alexis Vovk is a graduate of the ESSEC Business School (1988).
